Target Fish
Horse mackerel, mebaru, scorpionfish, and rockfish
Feature
A jig head built for power-game situations.
Ajimeba Gachi Head is a light-game jig head designed for stronger fish such as better-size horse mackerel and large mebaru. Its strength-focused hook design gives you the confidence to handle hard runs.
The hook point is finished sharp enough to convert even light inhaling bites from horse mackerel and mebaru into clean hook-ups.
It works not only for size-focused light-game fishing from harbors and breakwaters, but also in current-heavy spots and deeper areas. It is a dependable choice for boat light-game fishing, including vertical-contact ajing for larger fish.
Be sure to check the real fishing footage of YARIE field tester Rintaro Iwasaki, known as Rintako. This jig head is used from 14:00 in the video below.
Shallow Water / Slow Conditions
Hook #6 / 0.4g〜0.7g
In shallow harbors or situations with weak current,
the lighter 0.4g to 0.7g models are the best fit.
Their natural fall lets you work the upper to middle range
and still draw bites in tough conditions without adding excess resistance.
These lighter weights also work well for vertical-contact fishing.
Standard Weight Range
Hook #6 / 1.0g
A standard weight that is easy to use in harbors and on breakwaters.
It lets you hold a stable range from mid-depth to bottom
and covers a wide range of horse mackerel and mebaru situations.
Current-Affected Areas
Hook #4 / 1.8g〜2.5g
In current-heavy spots or deeper areas,
the #4 hook models from 1.8g to 2.5g really come into their own.
They have the strength for better-size horse mackerel and mebaru
while still letting you keep a stable range.
Deep Water / Power Game
Hook #4 / 3.2g
In deeper water or stronger current, 3.2g becomes the effective choice.
It keeps the lure in the range reliably even near the bottom
and handles true power-game situations for large horse mackerel and mebaru.
Jighead / Hook Selection Guide
Choose your jighead or hook based on method and target species.
YARIE's light-game lineup gives each model a clear role based on the situation you want to target.
Fast Hookset
Fast Hooking / Short-Bite Response
Hooking-focused models built to convert light inhaling bites and short strikes.
Ajibaku Jig Head leans more heavily toward ajing,
while Mebary Hayagake is an easy-to-use fast-hooking option
for broader light-game fishing, including mebaru and rockfish.
Swimming
Swimming / Range Control
Models that prioritize swimming balance and holding the intended range.
Best when you want to keep the worm tracking steadily
with straight retrieves or drift-based presentations.
Ami Pattern
Ami Pattern
Dedicated models for situations where fish are feeding on tiny ami shrimp.
For fine adjustments to range and weight, including split-shot setups,
the Ajimeba Army Hook is the better choice.
Barbless
Efficiency / Catch and Release
The barbless design makes hook removal easy and supports a fast-paced rhythm.
Best for high-numbers fishing
and situations where catch and release matters.
Rockfish
Rockfish / Strength Focus
Strength-focused jig heads built around a heavier-wire hook.
Best for scorpionfish, grouper, and other rockfish,
or whenever you expect slightly larger fish.
They also suit situations where you want to fish deeper with a heavier weight.
Ajing Power
Power for Better-Size Horse Mackerel
Power models built for better-size horse mackerel and large mebaru.
They balance the strength needed for bigger fish
with the ability to respond to horse mackerel bites,
making them a strong fit for size-focused ajing and boat-contact styles.
Vertical
Vertical Contact
Dedicated models for vertical fishing from a boat.
Best when you need a reliable hook-up in deeper water or moving current.
