Target Fish
Horse mackerel, mebaru, scorpionfish, and rockfish
Feature
Trigger bites with the swim, then make them commit in the range.
Ajimeba Rider Jig Head is a light-game jig head designed with swimming performance and range-keeping ability as the top priorities. It stays stable even with straight retrieves or drift-based swimming approaches, allowing the worm's natural action to come through cleanly.
The head uses a keel shape that stabilizes its underwater posture. It resists rolling in current, keeps the intended range more easily, and remains easy to handle around harbors and structure.
On the fall, it produces a subtle curve-fall with a fine wobble. That presentation makes the worm look more like living bait and naturally draws bites from horse mackerel and mebaru.
It can also be darted by raising the rod or adding a light action. By adding a change during the swim, you create the pause that triggers reflex bites from following fish.
This is a jig head built to shine in swimming-based light-game fishing.
Upper to Mid Range / Slow Retrieve
Hook #8 / 0.7g
In shallow spots such as harbor lights and inner harbors, 0.7g is easy to handle.
It keeps its range well even on a slow swim
and lets you cover the upper to middle range naturally.
It is also effective when the fish are pressured or hesitant.
Standard Weight Range
Hook #8 / 1.0g
The standard weight that sees the most use in harbors and on breakwaters.
It is easy to swim steadily through the middle range
and works with straight retrieves, drifts, and other methods.
If you are unsure, this is the best weight to start with.
Current / Deeper Range
Hook #8 / 1.5g
When current increases or the fish move deeper, 1.5g becomes effective.
It holds a stable range even near the bottom
and stays easy to control with drift and tension-fall presentations.
It is the right weight for working slightly deeper water.
Jighead / Hook Selection Guide
Choose your jighead or hook based on method and target species.
YARIE's light-game lineup gives each model a clear role based on the situation you want to target.
Fast Hookset
Fast Hooking / Short-Bite Response
Hooking-focused models built to convert light inhaling bites and short strikes.
Ajibaku Jig Head leans more heavily toward ajing,
while Mebary Hayagake is an easy-to-use fast-hooking option
for broader light-game fishing, including mebaru and rockfish.
Swimming
Swimming / Range Control
Models that prioritize swimming balance and holding the intended range.
Best when you want to keep the worm tracking steadily
with straight retrieves or drift-based presentations.
Ami Pattern
Ami Pattern
Dedicated models for situations where fish are feeding on tiny ami shrimp.
For fine adjustments to range and weight, including split-shot setups,
the Ajimeba Army Hook is the better choice.
Barbless
Efficiency / Catch and Release
The barbless design makes hook removal easy and supports a fast-paced rhythm.
Best for high-numbers fishing
and situations where catch and release matters.
Rockfish
Rockfish / Strength Focus
Strength-focused jig heads built around a heavier-wire hook.
Best for scorpionfish, grouper, and other rockfish,
or whenever you expect slightly larger fish.
They also suit situations where you want to fish deeper with a heavier weight.
Ajing Power
Power for Better-Size Horse Mackerel
Power models built for better-size horse mackerel and large mebaru.
They balance the strength needed for bigger fish
with the ability to respond to horse mackerel bites,
making them a strong fit for size-focused ajing and boat-contact styles.
Vertical
Vertical Contact
Dedicated models for vertical fishing from a boat.
Best when you need a reliable hook-up in deeper water or moving current.
