Catching All Day with
T-Fresh Evo at Mizunami
Fishing Camp Area Mizunami / Okute-cho, Mizunami, Gifu / Japan

On October 19, 2026, I visited Fishing Camp Area Mizunami. The venue opened for the season on October 3, and conditions seemed to be gradually improving compared with my previous visit on the Friday of opening week. With T-Fresh Evo 1.5g and 1.1g as my main spoons, I was able to catch fish throughout the day.
01 / FIRST CAST
Starting with metallic greens.
I started the morning with T-Fresh Evo 1.5g, fitted with an MK Hook Sharp #7 hook. My first colors were H1 Green Metallic and BJ33 Teppan Green.
These produced around two or three fish in every ten casts. When the metallic greens stopped working, I switched to slightly brighter colors with a contrasting flash, such as H5 Thirty-Eight and H6 Daidai Squash. Changing colors kept the catches coming.

02 / WEIGHT & RANGE
Down to 1.1g, from the surface to mid-depth.
When the response slowed again, I switched to T-Fresh Evo 1.1g with an MK Hook Sharp #9 hook, reducing both the profile and the retrieve speed.
I had bites near the surface with the 1.1g spoon, so when casting into spots I had not yet covered, I started the retrieve with the rod tip held fairly high. After a short retrieve, I worked the spoon deeper, toward mid-depth. This approach caught fish well.

03 / LURE ROTATION
Trying other spoons and crankbaits.
As the fishing slowed further, I tried PiricaMore 1.0g and T-Roll 0.8g, but neither spoon drew a good response.
I also tried several crankbaits without much success. If I had to pick one, the floating T-Crankup Jr in C5 Matsu-Pellet seemed capable of producing a few fish. I fitted an ST Hook #9 at the front and an AG #8 at the rear.
Perhaps spoons with an irregular or stronger action suited the fish better that day than those with a consistent or subtler action.

04 / AFTERNOON STRATEGY
Matching colors to quiet spells and cruising fish.
Later in the day, it worked well to fish T-Fresh Evo 1.1g in S1 Dark Brown during quiet periods, then switch to a color that makes the lure look larger, such as H5 Thirty-Eight, when cruising fish came through.
Mixing in the 1.5g spoon with its larger profile was also effective.
In the end, spoons outperformed crankbaits that day. Alternating between T-Fresh Evo 1.1g and 1.5g kept me catching fish throughout the session.
